What it’s all about

IN MEMORY OF JOSH GENTRY

In the summer of 2010 SHP hired a young Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Cincinnati, who from day one showed immediate promise coupled with a charismatic personality. Josh Gentry worked tirelessly on countless projects at SHP, always completing the work to the highest standards, on time and with a smile on his face.

In February of 2014, we suddenly lost Josh; he is and will always be truly missed by everyone who knew him.

Josh was a devoted son, fiancé, brother and friend with an enthusiastic and spirited personality. Dedicated to his passion of engineering, he had already achieved the certification of Professional Engineer, Certified Energy Manager, a Certified Commissioning Authority from the AABC Commissioning Group, an ASHRAE member and LEED Green Associate. He was also an Eagle Scout, avid gamer, lover of technology and was involved with rescuing Newfoundland dogs.

SCHOLARSHIP

As a way of honoring Josh and continuing his legacy, SHP has established a scholarship at UC’s College of Engineering. The proceeds for the scholarship are raised at the annual Play4Josh Memorial Golf Tournament at the award-winning Blue Ash Golf Course. Fittingly, the Blue Ash Golf Clubhouse itself serves as its own legacy, as the building’s mechanical and HVAC system was designed by Josh while he was at SHP.

It is always a wonderful day to gather with our vendors, clients and friends to play a round for Josh.
